Work In Progress - Sketching

"Japanese Bobtail"

Almost two weeks ago a fellow Etsy seller sent me a message after seeing my "Japanese Bobtail" art. She told me the way the cat looks is exactly what her rescued 5 months old Japanese bobtail does. She shared with me her YouTube records and some photos of the beautiful cat. One of the cat's legs had to be removed at 12 weeks because of her birth time severe trauma. Although I felt very sorry about what happened to the cat, I am very happy to know that the cat is happily living with the loving owner now. The cat's name is "Keiki"...., hey, my name is "Keiko"! It is such an amazing coincidence that she found my art under a search and we had the similar names.

It made me want to create a collage of Keiki so I asked her permission to refer the photos she sent me.

Here is my work in progress for today: Sketching

She is such an adorable kitty<3

Autumn DIY - Twig Vase Making

I just want to share this easily doable and eco-friendly DIY project that is fun to do in the new season.  I found the DIY tutorial on Martha Stewart's Blog and I made three of them last year. They nicely blend into my nature-themed decor.

What you need are a bunch of small twigs, an empty can (like for veggies, beans etc.), a  glue gun (or a very strong glue),  a set of scissors (something to cut twigs),  a ruler, and  a rubber band.
The tutorial I referred can be found here.

Instead of using as vase I use them as hair brush holder, potpourri holder, and make-up items holder.

Here are what I made. I tied up some shells I had with jute twines around the twig vases.

Fossil blog shows  a similar tutorial with twigs but they made candle holders, that are also very cute.

So next time when you go to a park, maybe you can gather twigs for this fun DIY:)

Have  a wonderful day!

Bless Hue Facebook Page Opened...

Since I am not born to be a "tech" girl, it takes a bunch of work when I try to use new website services.  While I finally started to get a hang of Blogger and Google+ tools, I worked on my Bless Hue Facebook page set-up today.

Here is how it turned out.

For those of who have an Etsy shop and its Facebook page, I would recommend this useful free app called "Static HTML" from Woobox. You can directly bring customers to your Etsy shop from your Facebook page with one click by utilizing this app, unlike the other apps that creates another shop page.

I learned something new again.

It is still under construction, but please drop by Bless Hue's facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/BlessHueShop) when you have time :)

September has arrived! The sun has still been out shining almost all days - the summer has not gone yet :-) I found some beautiful decor ideas using palm leaves and fronds on one of my favorite blogs, "Completely Coastal".  I love the nature-inspired decors.

Happy September!
